About the BasicsCard for business
The BasicsCard is a re-usable, PIN-protected card. Customers can use their BasicsCard to buy things they need, such as food, clothes, health items, and hygiene products.
The BasicsCard was introduced as a way for customers to use their income-managed money to buy priority items at a variety of approved stores and businesses.
Customers must enter their PIN when using their BasicsCard. The card can only be used to make purchases through EFTPOS, which are processed in the same way as other EFTPOS transactions.
Only the authorised cardholder or his or her nominee can use the BasicsCard. The authorised cardholder’s name, or, if there is one, the authorised nominee’s name, will be printed on the card. You must not knowingly allow an unauthorised person to use someone else’s BasicsCard.
A customer cannot use his or her BasicsCard when an EFTPOS terminal is not available or if a signature is requested.
BasicsCard Balance on Receipt service
The BasicsCard Balance on Receipt service enables you to print a customer’s BasicsCard balance on his or her EFTPOS receipts. If you choose to provide this service, your customer’s BasicsCard account balance will be printed on the EFTPOS receipt each time the customer makes a BasicsCard EFTPOS transaction at your store, on all receipts for approved BasicsCard EFTPOS purchase transactions, approved BasicsCard EFTPOS refunds, and declined transactions due to insufficient funds.
This service provides an easy and convenient way for customers to keep track of their BasicsCard balance and helps reduce incidents of declined transactions due to insufficient funds.
