The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House is great for our business because it saves us a lot of travel and time.
S & B Stainless we run a stainless steel fabrication company we make bench tops, bar tops, barbecue units, a little bit of everything nothing's too small for us. We employ five staff and we pay four staff super the fifth staff is a apprentice so that comes from the apprenticeship program.
What we did before was we had to go for each individual staff member to different superannuation companies so payments were done through different banks, different payment methods and was a long drawn out process which we found to take up lots of time and money. Then once I found out about the superannuation clearing house we have instantly saved a lot of travel, a lot of time.
It’s just one payment now it’s not four, five or six payments depending on how many staff you’ve got obviously. It just makes it a lot easier because it's all in one system that’s it, done, finished.
A couple of my staff members had the wrong membership numbers so they actually phoned me to try and get it clarified which is a very nice change. So then they sorted it all out from their end, basically within three minutes of a phone call everything else was sorted out by them. I felt the superannuation clearing house contacting me was fantastic because it’s not often you get that kind of service anywhere these days.
The superannuation clearing house has been a win for the business because we've been able to get all our stuff done at a good rate of speed, it's obviously a win for the government and it's a win for my staff because they're getting paid straight away.
There’s no reason not to at least investigate into it because you’re going to save money, you’re going to save time, it doesn't cost you anything so go for it.
