Payment rates for Age Pension

From 20 September 2014, your maximum rate of payment increased if you receive an income support payment. If you own shares, securities or managed investments, your payment may reduce due to the reassessment of all financial investment values at this time. Read more about financial investments.

There are different rates of Age Pension payments for single people and couples. Your rate also depends on your income, assets, and other circumstances.

The transitional arrangements apply to certain pensioners who were receiving part pensions as at 19 September 2009 and only applies until they would get an equal or higher rate under the new rules. Rates are indexed by CPI only.
