You should register an intent to claim for Carer Allowance. You should then submit your claim for Carer Allowance within 14 days so that we can pay you from the earliest possible date.

We can provide personalised Carer Allowance claim forms and medical reports. In some circumstances previously supplied information, such as personal information and medical reports, may be used in place of providing new documentation.

Submit your claim
If you do not need to provide any proof of identity documents, you can submit your claim form using the Reply Paid envelope included with the claim form.
We will inform you of the outcome of your claim. If you are eligible for payment of Carer Allowance, we will tell you when your payment will start and how much you will get paid.
You always have the right to appeal any decision we make.
