Payment rates of Carer Payment

Adjustments to payment rates are made in line with the Consumer Price Index in line with increases in the cost of living. Carer Payment rates are adjusted on 20 March and 20 September of each year.

From 20 September 2014, your maximum rate of payment increased if you receive an income support payment. If you own shares, securities or managed investments, your payment may reduce due to the reassessment of all financial investment values at this time. Read more about financial investments.

These amounts exclude the Pension Supplement, a fortnightly payment additional to the base pension. The maximum rates of Pension Supplement for singles and for each member of a couple separated due to ill health is $63.90 a fortnight, and for couples $96.40 a fortnight combined.
