Age requirements for Maternity Immunisation Allowance
For a child who was born in Australia, Maternity Immunisation Allowance may be paid if your child was either:
between 18 months and under two years old on 30 June 2012; or
between 4 years and under 5 years old on 30 June 2012.

What you may be eligible for
Under 18 months
You are not eligible for Maternity Immunisation Allowance.
18 months – 2 years
If your child is fully immunised or has an approved exemption by 30 June 2012, you may be eligible for the first amount of Maternity Immunisation Allowance. You are not eligible for the second amount. If you have not already claimed Maternity Immunisation Allowance you need to lodge your claim before your child’s second birthday.
2 – 4 years
You are not eligible for the second amount of Maternity Immunisation Allowance.
4 – 5 years
If your child is fully immunised or has an approved exemption by 30 June 2012, you may be eligible for the second amount of Maternity Immunisation Allowance.
If you haven’t already claimed the first amount, you may be eligible for it if your child was fully immunised before they turned two years old. If you have not already claimed Maternity Immunisation Allowance you need to lodge your claim before your child’s fifth birthday.
Over 5 years
If you haven’t claimed before your child’s fifth birthday, you are not eligible for Maternity Immunisation Allowance.
