Reviews of Rent Assistance

From time to time your Rent Assistance may be reviewed.

In general, you need to provide verification of your rent details in order to receive the assistance.

The reviews are conducted on a regular basis. You will not be selected for a review if:

  • you are in accommodation that is exempt from verification
  • you have provided verification in the previous six months
  • you have been issued with a Rent Certificate within the previous 28 days

If you are selected for a review, you will receive a letter asking you to confirm or update your details. You can confirm or update your details using our Online Services or Phone Self Service on 136 240.

If you have already registered, you can log on to Online Services or Phone Self Service on 136 240, or otherwise:

  • register for Online Services
  • register for Phone Self Service, by calling 136 240

If you are not registered for Self Service or choose not to use the service to respond to your review, you will need to complete and return a rent certificate before the end of the review period.

If you do not reply to the letter by the due date, your Rent Assistance will stop.

Even if you have provided us with a copy of your lease or tenancy agreement, you may still receive a review letter.

If you and your partner both receive a review letter, only one of you needs to reply when using our Self Service options.
