Public Holiday reporting dates and payment arrangements

We have special arrangements in place during the December 2014 and January 2015 holiday period to ensure you are not disadvantaged by office closures.

Holiday closures

We will be closed on:

  • Christmas Day Thursday 25 December 2014
  • Boxing Day Friday 26 December 2014
  • Australian Public Service Holiday Monday 29 December 2014
  • New Year’s Day Thursday 1 January 2015

Self service still available

You can use your myGov, online accounts, Express Plus mobile apps and phone self service during the December 2014 and January 2015 holiday periods.

You can use these services to report. However, if you use these services to report on a public holiday you will not be paid until after the public holiday.

Important information for reporting

If you are due to report your earnings or employment on a holiday closure date there are alternative reporting dates for you to report. Your payment will be made after your have reported to us.

If you report early during your assessment period, you must estimate your earnings or other changes for the full period. You can correct your estimate within 14 days, or when you next report.

You can choose to report after your assessment period, however you will not be paid until you report. You may want to do this so you can be sure of your earnings or changes to your circumstances.

Important information for payments

Payments that are paid automatically will not be delayed by the holidays, but some payments may be made earlier than usual. An early payment is not an extra payment. It’s your normal payment just paid early. You will need to budget carefully so this payment lasts until your next payment is due.

Where payments are made early they are advanced by as few working days as possible to minimise disruption to your budgeting patterns.
