Holiday reporting and payment arrangements over Easter and Anzac Day

The department has special arrangements in place during the Easter and Anzac Day holiday periods to ensure you are not disadvantaged by office closures. Payments that are not paid automatically will not be delayed by the holidays, but some payments may be made earlier than usual.

Holiday closures

All service centres and telephone contact via Smart Centres will be closed on:

  • Easter period, Friday 18 April, Saturday 19 April and Monday 21 April 2014, and
  • Anzac Day, Friday 25 April 2014

Self service still available

myGov, your online accounts, Express Plus mobile apps and phone self service will be available during the Easter and Anzac Day 2014 holiday periods. You can use these services to report. However, if you use these services to report on a public holiday you will not be paid until after the public holiday.

If you usually report by visiting a service centre, you will be given an earlier date to report if you are due to report on a holiday closure date.

Important information for payments

  • An early payment is not an extra payment. It is a normal payment paid early because of the public holiday period. You will need to budget carefully so this payment lasts until your next payment is due.
  • No payments will be delayed by public holidays. Some payments will be made early.
  • Where payments are made early they are advanced by as few working days as possible to minimise disruption to your budgeting patterns
