Public holiday reporting and payment arrangements for the Easter period and ANZAC Day

The department has special arrangements in place during the Easter period and ANZAC Day public holiday to ensure you are not disadvantaged by office closures. Payments that are not paid automatically will not be delayed by the holidays, but some payments may be made earlier than usual.

Public holiday closures

All phone services and service centres will be closed on:

  • Good Friday, 29 March 2013
  • Easter Saturday, 30 March 2013
  • Easter Monday, 1 April 2013
  • ANZAC Day, 25 April 2013

Please note: all essential 24/7 Medicare Provider Services will remain open and available over the Easter period and ANZAC Day.
Online services and phone self service will be available during public holidays for the Easter period and ANZAC Day. If you use these services to report on a public holiday you will not be paid until after the public holiday.

If you usually report by visiting a service centre, you must report and have lodged your forms by the date advised in the table below.

  • If you are a postal lodger you have the option to return your forms personally on the early return date.
  • Forms can be returned after the end of your reporting period if you wish to wait until you are sure of your earnings, or if your circumstances change. Remember that forms must be returned before you can be paid.
  • Online services and phone self service will be available during public holidays for the Easter period and ANZAC Day.
  • If you usually report by visiting a service centre, you must report and have lodged your forms by the date advised in the tables above.

Important information for payments

  • An early payment is not an extra payment. It is a normal payment paid early because of the public holiday period. You will need to budget carefully so this payment lasts until your next payment is due.
  • No payments will be delayed by public holidays. Some payments will be made early.
  • Where payments are made early, they are advanced by as few working days as possible to minimise disruption to your budgeting patterns.
