Assessment Subsidy for Overseas Trained Professionals
The Assessment Subsidy for Overseas Trained Professionals program (ASDOT) helps skilled overseas trained professionals with the cost of assessments/examinations which must be passed to qualify to practice in Australia. Only certain approved professions are covered by ASDOT.
When you are trained overseas, your qualifications may not be recognised by employers in Australia. To get your Australian qualification, you may have to be assessed or take an examination. ASDOT financial support helps you cover the cost of this.
To receive ASDOT funding you need to be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen living in Australia. You also need to be in a profession covered by ASDOT. The approved list is available on the Australian Education International website.
