Centrelink Indigenous Cadetship Program
The Centrelink Indigenous Cadetship Program sponsors Indigenous students for the length of their study towards an undergraduate degree at an Australian tertiary institution.
Centrelink encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians to apply for this program. Applications are called for each year with the selection process commencing in September. As successful candidates complete their course of study, they are selected for positions that will be available within Centrelink.
What the Cadetship provides
Cadets will be paid a book and compulsory equipment allowance. Centrelink will pay HECS fees on completion of successful results for each semester the cadet is on the program.
Obligations
Cadets are required to work in their home offices during the mid-year and end-of-year university breaks but not during mid semester vacations.
