You may receive the CDEP Participant Supplement of $20.80 per fortnight if you receive CDEP wages and participate in the RJCP. You do not need to complete a claim form to apply. If you wish to claim the CDEP Participant Supplement, your RJCP provider can tell us this.
Income test for CDEP Participant Supplement
You may receive the CDEP Participant Supplement if your income is below:
- $1,197.00 per fortnight if you are single
- $1,708.00 per fortnight if you are a single principle carer
- $1,100.84 per fortnight if you are partnered
If you are partnered, you and your partner’s total income must be below $2,201.68 per fortnight. You may receive your CDEP wages as well as a part payment of Disability Support Payment, Parenting Payment Single, Age Pension or Carer Payment. While you keep getting your part payment, you will be eligible for the CDEP Participant Supplement.
If you stop receiving your part payment, you may still be entitled to the CDEP Participant Supplement if you satisfy the income test.
Integration of CDEP into the Remote Jobs and Communities Programme
On 1 July 2013, the RJCP integrated CDEP and began delivering significant reforms to employment, participation and community development services in remote Australia to help more people get into jobs and participate in their communities.
The RJCP replaces and builds on the strengths of Job Services Australia, Disability Employment Services, and the CDEP program. It provides more streamlined and flexible employment and participation in 60 remote regions across Australia.
CDEP Wages in RJCP Regions
If you currently receive CDEP wages for participating in the RJCP, you will continue to receive them until 30 June 2017 as long as you remain eligible. Your RJCP provider will pay your wages.
Transition of CDEP in non-remote locations
After the integration of CDEP into the RJCP on 1 July 2013, CDEP was extended for 12 months in identified non-remote locations where the RJCP does not operate. From 30 June 2014, CDEP will no longer be available in these non-remote locations. CDEP participants will transition to mainstream employment services.
CDEP wages will no longer be available in non-remote locations. If you were receiving CDEP wages, you will need to be assessed for eligibility for an income support payment.
If you received the Approved Program of Work Supplement for CDEP participation in addition to an income support payment, you will no longer receive the supplement from 30 June 2014.
The identified non-remote locations where CDEP Providers continued to operate until 30 June 2014 are:
- Central Western NSW – Lightning Ridge, Mungindi, Walgett, Coonamble, Gulargambone, Collarenebri and Lake Cargelligo
- Northern NSW – Muli Muli, Baryugil and Malabugilmah
- Queensland – Mt Garnett, Woorabinda and Cherbourg
- Tasmania – Cape Barren Island and Flinders Island
If you receive the CDEP Participant Supplement on top of your CDEP wages, you will receive a Health Care Card. You may also be able to claim benefits such as:
- Rent Assistance
- Pharmaceutical Allowance
- Telephone Allowance
