Electronic Verification of Rent
EVoR is a secure, automated process that lets your community-housing organisation verify and update your rent amount electronically with us each time there is a change in rent.
This will ensure that you are getting the right amount of rent assistance with your Centrelink payment and save you having to personally complete a Rent Certificate or update us every time your rent changes.
How EVoR works
Your community-housing organisation can help you fill out a consent form and let you know when your information is sent to the department. You will also receive a letter from us letting you know what information has been received. If any information is incorrect, you will need to contact your community-housing organisation.
The community-housing organisation will only update your rental details. You will still need to contact us directly if any of your other circumstances change, for example if:
- you change your address
- you take in a sub-tenant, boarder, or lodger
- you become partnered or separated from your partner
- your income changes
- children leave home or return to live with you.
