Changes that affect your Child Support

Let us know about any changes to your situation to make sure your Child Support arrangements are correct.

When your circumstances change

When your circumstances change, call us on 131 272. You may also be able to use Child Support Online Services (currently known as CSAonline).

When your circumstances change, let us know as soon as you can. We cannot backdate most changes and, if we do not know your current details, your Child Support assessment might not be accurate.

You might pay too much or too little Child Support, or not receive the correct amount if there was a change to your circumstances and you did not tell us about it. If you pay too little or receive too much Child Support, we will help you work out a repayment arrangement.

Managing your child support

Request to change your Child Support payment method away from salary or wages deductions

If you can continue making Child Support payments by the due date, you can apply to stop your payments being deducted from your salary or wages.

If you have had a request to stop employer deductions refused in the past two months, it is unlikely we will accept your application again at this time.

If you have had a direct payment arrangement cancelled in the past, you can apply to stop deductions again if it has been more than six months since we cancelled your last arrangement.

To apply, call us on 131 272 or complete the Application to stop deductions from salary or wages form.
