Studying and training - if you receive income support
Additional help to access training and education is available for those already receiving a centrelink payment such as Newstart Allowance, Youth Allowance, Parenting Payment or Disability Support Pension.

You may be able to get financial help if you are studying or training. The course you are undertaking must be approved and can include:

- upgrading your qualifications to improve your chances of finding work
- improving your language, reading, writing and math skills
- paying for child care while you are studying
- unable to use public transport without substantial assistance, because of a disability
Payments you receive from the Centrelink program to help you while you study will usually continue during semester breaks and between courses.
