What is the Flexible Service Delivery Trial?
The Flexible Service Delivery Trial has been designed to improve customer service and choice—enabling selected Medicare and Centrelink offices to provide cross agency services.
The joint project will take place in every state, making Centrelink services for seniors and carers available through selected Medicare offices and non-cash Medicare services available through selected Centrelink offices.
What services are being offered?
Centrelink offices at Sutherland (Sydney NSW), Earlville (Cairns QLD), Broome (WA) and Launceston (TAS), are providing access to a range of non-cash Medicare services, such as:
- processing claims-cheque and Electronic Funds Transfer refunds only (not cash)
- enrolling for Medicare
- updating Medicare contact details
- ordering a new Medicare card
- registering as an organ donor
- receiving immunisation statements for children
Medicare offices at Box Hill (VIC), Hillarys (WA), Port Macquarie (NSW) and Marion (SA), are providing access to a range of seniors and carers Centrelink services, such as:
- updating personal details
- lodging claims for Age Pension, Carer Payment or Carer Allowance, and Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
- registering for the Pension Bonus Scheme
- registering for self service
- making an appointment with a Financial Information Service Officer

Sutherland Centrelink Customer Service Centre (from 4 October 2006) 36 Eton Street Sutherland NSW 2232 Opening hours Monday to Friday: 8am-5pm
