New Centrelink Access Point in Bohlevale
4 October 2007
The Minister for Human Services, Senator The Hon. Chris Ellison, today officially opened the Centrelink Access Point in the Bohlevale Community Centre.
Senator Ellison said the Centrelink service will provide more convenient access to vital Australian Government services for the Bohlevale community.
“Centrelink is committed to improving its services to rural, regional and remote Australia and has created a nationwide network of over 560 Centrelink Access Points and Agents such as this one,” Senator Ellison said.
“I’d like to congratulate the Thuringowa City Council for providing the wonderful facilities in which the Bohlevale Access Point is located.
“The Access Point provides a phone, photocopier, and fax machine for people to conduct their business with Centrelink.
“Customers visiting the Bohlevale Access Point have direct access to ‘myaccount’ - the Human Services Portal, which provides a single-entry point for health and social services websites.
“Self-service computers in the office provide easy and secure access to the online services offered by Centrelink, Medicare Australia and the Child Support Agency. The portal allows people to link their logons and move freely between agencies’ websites without having to log on and off. It can be viewed at myaccount.humanservices.gov.au.
“The office also has a range of Centrelink forms, information products and brochures for customers.
“I thank the Bohlevale and District Community Centre for being one of many organisations Centrelink partners with to improve services to local communities in rural and regional areas.”
“I’d also like to acknowledge the volunteers who work in the Bohlevale Access Point. Without their contribution and high-levels of service, the Access Point would not operate as smoothly as it does,” Senator Ellison said.
