New Deputy Secretary for Access Card

Ms Kerri Hartland has been appointed to head up the new Office of Access Card.
Ms Hartland is presently the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and head of eBusiness Division in the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources. She is leading the roll-out of the Vanguard Project which deals specifically with validation, authentication and notary services across the three tiers of government.
Ms Hartland has previously headed Biotechnology Australia which was responsible for establishing the Biotechnology Centre of Excellence. She has also headed up the Secretariat for the Prime Minister’s Taskforce on Investment Attraction into Australia.
Kerri has degrees in Economics, Law and Arts and her early career was as a journalist.
Ms Hartland brings to this position knowledge and experience in dealing with business, in balancing technology requirements with community expectations, and a proven track record for delivery. She has an excellent reputation for delivering sensitive projects on time and on budget.
Kerri will start at the Office of Access Card on 7 August.
