Welcome to the Job Capacity Assessment Program

Job Capacity Assessors refer people with disabilities and other barriers to work to appropriate employment and support services, and their reports are used for Centrelink decisions about capacity to work.

From 1 July 2009, the Job Capacity Assessment program will be managed by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Assessments are conducted by allied health professionals, such as registered psychologists and rehabilitation consultants, employed by 18 Job Capacity Assessment service providers.

2009-10 Budget Initiatives

The 2009-10 Budget includes several important initiatives to address issues raised in the Job Capacity Assessment Review and consultations on the National Mental Health and Disability Employment Strategy.
