We work with multicultural organisations to identify referral opportunities, and link customers with services beyond the scope of the department.
Information about Medicare, Centrelink and Child Support payments and services are available in translated publications for our culturally and linguistically diverse audiences.
We also provide a range of language support in our service centres and on the phone. Free interpreter and translation services are available in our service centres to help customers when they visit us. Customers can also ask to access an interpreter when they speak with us on the phone.
In addition, we have a dedicated phone service where experienced staff can speak with customers in their preferred language. Help is available in more than 200 languages.
Our staff are informed by community feedback, and are trained to help you connect with Australian Government services. Our Multicultural Service Officers are specialists who help migrant and refugee communities connect with Australian Government services.
