Rationalising and streamlining Health programmes

From 1 July 2015, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Online incentive payment for public hospitals which dispense items listed under the Highly Specialised Drugs program will no longer be paid.

This Budget measure is not subject to the passage of legislation.

Description of the measure

From 1 July 2015, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Online incentive payment for public hospitals which dispense items listed under the Highly Specialised Drugs program will no longer be paid.

The PBS Online incentive payment is $0.40 per eligible prescription claimed through Online Claiming for PBS. All public hospitals providing Highly Specialised Drugs are now using Online Claiming for PBS. As a result, this incentive payment is no longer required.
