Medicare Benefits Schedule and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme Data – efficiencies

This measure will implement cost recovery arrangements for Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and other Commonwealth health data extracts provided to external clients by the Department of Health (Health).

Description of the measure

This measure will implement cost recovery arrangements for Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and other Commonwealth health data extracts provided to external clients by the Department of Health (Health). The arrangements will be administered by the Department of Human Services.

From 1 July 2016, external clients will be charged for the data provided by Health using a single process and costing structure.
