From 1 July 2016, $45.1 million will be invested in the myGov digital service over 4 years, to ensure people can continue to interact with the Australian Government online, ensuring access by all tiers of government.

Description of the measure

From 1 July 2016, $45.1 million will be invested in the myGov digital service over 4 years, to ensure people can continue to interact with the Australian Government online, ensuring access by all tiers of government.

The Department of Human Services is also working closely with the Digital Transformation Office, customers and participating agencies to develop the next phase of improvements to myGov. $5.4 million will be invested over 2 years to modernise this service and ensure it continues to deliver on the government’s commitment to make services simpler, clearer and faster.

This measure does not involve eligibility or payments. Anyone can create a myGov account. myGov is a simple and secure way to access Australian Government services online.

The date this measure will start and finish

The funding for the operations of the myGov digital service will start on 1 July 2016 and will end on 30 June 2020.

Implementation of the myGov improvement work has commenced and will end on 30 June 2017.
