Aged Care Provider Funding – improving the targeting of the viability supplement for regional aged care facilities

From 1 January 2017, the allocation of funding to rural and remote residential care services, home care packages and flexible care places will be improved.

Description of the measure

From 1 January 2017, the allocation of funding to rural and remote residential care services, home care packages and flexible care places will be improved.

The current classification systems used to target viability supplement funding and flexible care funding will be improved. This will help to target funding to areas of greater need, and increase the overall funding for rural and remote services.
