Welfare Payment Infrastructure Transformation (WPIT) Programme

Over the coming years, the WPIT Programme will transform the way we deliver welfare payments.

We’ll modernise our processes and technology to better meet the needs of all citizens.

Where Tranche One focused on planning and preparation, Tranche Two is the first delivery phase of the WPIT Programme. Together with our major commercial partners and other government agencies, the WPIT Programme will first transform how we deliver student payments and begin developing our new welfare payment platform.

Approach to market

We are working with commercial partners to deliver a solution that meets the evolving service delivery needs of citizens and government.

After an extensive tender process, we have selected SAP Australia Pty Ltd as our preferred Core Software Vendor. This is subject to negotiation of commercial arrangements.

Following a comprehensive separate tender process, Capgemini, Accenture, IBM and Hewlett Packard Enterprise were invited to form the Systems Integrator Panel for the WPIT Programme. The panel will be used for ongoing systems integration services throughout the life of the WPIT Programme.

We will work with our commercial partners to develop a modern, flexible and sustainable solution that will transform the way we do business and deliver services to the community.
