If you do not have a Centrelink online account
The online claim does not need to be completed in one session. You can save your responses and continue with your claim at a later time. You are only asked the questions relevant to your circumstances.

You may need to complete some extra forms to help us to accurately assess your claim, based on your and your partner's individual circumstances.

You will also need to provide identity documents and a medical certificate that your treating doctor can provide.
Submit your claim
Most people have their funds paid directly into their bank account. Make sure you register your bank details when you submit your claim so you can too.
If you have submitted your claim online, you can submit your documents online, which will attach your documents directly to your claim.
If you are unable to claim online, you need to return your completed forms, identity documents, medical certificate, and any other documents we have requested, to your nearest service centre or by post.
We will inform you whether your claim is successful. If you are eligible for Sickness Allowance, we will tell you when your payment will start and how much you will get paid.
