If you do not have a Centrelink online account
You don’t need to complete the online claim in one session. You can save your answers and do your claim later. You’re only asked questions relevant to your circumstances.
If you can’t claim online
If you can’t claim online, complete the Claim for Sickness Allowance form.
You may need to provide some documents to support your claim including:
- Income and Assets form
- Confirmation of identity documents
- a medical certificate from your treating doctor

Submit your claim
Payments are paid directly into your bank account, so make sure you register your bank details when you submit your claim.
