Update your savings details using your Centrelink online account
Instructions to tell us about changes to your savings details such as savings, cheque, deeming accounts, cash in hand, money loaned and deposit accounts.
When updating your income and asset details, select Update savings to edit, add or remove savings details. This includes details about your savings, cheque, deeming accounts, cash in hand, money loaned and deposit accounts.
Step 1: view your existing savings details and choose an action
Select Update savings as part of your updates to income and assets details to view a list of your savings details.
Tell us about changes to your savings details by selecting:
- Edit pencil icon to update existing savings details
- Remove bin icon to remove savings details
- Add savings to add new savings details
Step 2: update your savings details
Edit existing savings details
Select the edit pencil action to update an existing savings item.
Updated the savings balance and select Done to finalise.
The updated savings details will appear in your savings list.
Remove savings details
Select the remove bin action to remove existing savings details.
The savings details you removed will appear greyed out in your savings list.
Select Undo if you’ve removed the wrong details.
Add new savings details
Select Add savings to add a new savings item.
Provide the details of your new savings item, including the savings type, balance and your share of the savings.
Select Done to finalise.
Your new savings details will appear in your savings list.
Select Next when your savings details are correct and up to date.
Step 3: review and submit your savings details
Review the changes made to your savings details and read the declaration.
If you agree with the information in the declaration, check accept this declaration.
Select Submit to confirm your updated savings details and submit your declaration.
We will provide you a receipt number when your update has been submitted.
We will also tell you if evidence is required to confirm your updates. You will have 14 days to provide evidence to us.

If you are making changes to other categories as part of your income and assets updates, you’ll be asked to update these next.

Step 4: Sign out
Select Return to my profile to get back to your profile information.
Select Home to return to your online account homepage.
Select myGov to return to your myGov account.
For your privacy and security, ensure you sign out of your myGov account when you have finished using it.
