View your BasicsCard account details online

This guide provides step by step details on how to view and print your BasicsCard balance.

The BasicsCard is a Personal Identification Number (PIN) protected card, which allows you to access your income managed funds through existing EFTPOS facilities at approved stores and businesses. The BasicsCard is available to those customers whose payments are income managed.

Money can be transferred from your Income Management Account to your BasicsCard and also recalled from the BasicsCard to your Income Management account. Read more about the BasicsCard. The easiest way to keep track of your BasicsCard balance is by accessing your Centrelink account online.

For assistance with transferring funds to, or recalling funds from, your BasicsCard, refer to the relevant step by step guides.

Step 1

Log on to your Centrelink online account from anywhere on the Human Services website. Once logged in, you will be presented with your account homepage. Regular transactions will be displayed on this page. To access the full menu select the icon in the top left of the page.

Step 2

Hover over the ‘Income Management / BasicsCard’ menu item on the left hand side of the screen, then select ‘BasicsCard Account Details’.

Step 3

The ‘BasicsCard Account Details’ page will display the details of your BasicsCard, including your current BasicsCard balance and recent transactions. A receipt number is provided at the top of this page for your reference.

Select ‘Print’ to print a copy of your BasicsCard account details.

Step 4

If you wish to transfer funds from your Income Management account to your BasicsCard, select ‘Transfer’ or ‘Transfer Funds to BasicsCard’ and go to Step 3 of the guide ‘Transfer funds to your BasicsCard’.

If you wish to recall funds from your BasicsCard back to your Income Management account, select ‘Recall Funds from BasicsCard’ and go to Step 3 of the guide ‘Recall funds from your BasicsCard’.

Otherwise go to Step 5.

Step 5

Select ‘Return home’ to return to your ‘Welcome’ page.

You are back to your Centrelink online account homepage, from here you are ready to start accessing your Centrelink account online.

Remember to log off from your Centrelink online account when you are finished.
