5 things to add to your O Week

There’s lots to learn during O Week so to help, we’ve put together the top 5 things to make connecting with us easier.

1. Work with us online

If you don’t already have one, register for a Centrelink online account through myGov. It’s the easiest and fastest way to interact with us. Discover what you can do online like claim a student payment or update your details. You can also use the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

2. Keep up to date with our latest news

Our social media accounts and monthly subscription service provide important information and updates that might affect you.

Like our Student Update account on Facebook or follow us on Twitter at @StudentUpdateAU. You can ask simple questions via social media but remember to keep your personal information private.

Sign up for our monthly subscription service, News for students and trainees, to get a summary of news items sent directly to your email.

3. Check you're doing an approved course

One of the things you’ll need to do if you get or would like to get Austudy or Youth Allowance is to make sure you’re studying an approved course.

Read more about approved courses of study and institutions.

4. Register for free SMS or email reminders

If you give us your mobile number or email, we’ll send you electronic messages, including reminders to provide documents or update your information.

5. Tell us if things change as it may affect your payment

Use the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app or your Centrelink online account through myGov to tell us about changes within 14 days. If you don’t tell us, it may affect your payment and you may need to pay back money we’ve paid you.
