Claiming carer payments just got easier

You can now apply for Carer Payment and Carer Allowance online.

Complete your claim online at a time and place that suits you.

Online claims are now easier for most carers because:

  • you only need to give us new or updated information - we use the details you’ve already given us to pre-fill sections of your claim
  • other questions we ask are tailored to you
  • you can track the progress of your claim with Claim Tracker

The online claim has tips on how to complete your claim.

Use your Centrelink online account through myGov to start your claim. If you don’t finish your claim in 1 session, the online claim will automatically save when you exit. So you can log in later to complete it.
