Most people do the right thing and tell us the correct details about their relationship. If you deliberately choose not to tell us about your current relationship or provide false or misleading information you could be committing fraud.

Committing welfare fraud could result in:

  • a debt
  • a referral for prosecution
  • a criminal record, or
  • a prison sentence
