Medical reviews for Disability Support Pension customers

There are now additional medical reviews for Disability Support Pension (DSP) customers.

If you get DSP you may be sent a letter advising that you have been selected for a review of your payment.

The review will ensure people are on the support best suited to their situation. Those affected will be those most likely to not meet the current eligibility criteria and who may have the capacity to work.

If you are selected you will undergo a comprehensive medical review of your Disability Support Pension qualification and you may need to provide current medical evidence.

You may be referred for a Job Capacity Assessment and in some cases a Disability Medical Assessment (DMA) by a Government-contracted doctor (GCD).

Next steps

You don’t need to do anything. If you are selected, you will receive a letter from us telling you what to do.

If you are no longer eligible for DSP, you may still be able to get support. Use our Payment Finder to see what is suitable for you and your circumstance.
