myGov celebrates reaching 10 million!

More than 10 million active myGov accounts—it’s time to celebrate!

myGov has reached a huge milestone—we have 10 million active accounts!

myGov has become one of the biggest digital services in Australia. We normally have an average of 160 000 people using myGov each day. However, during tax time this July, more than 660 000 people signed in to myGov in one day. We’ve certainly come a long way since the myGov launch in 2013!

You can now access up to 10 government services online, all in the one place, and we’re going to keep getting bigger and better!

myGov is continuing to build on recent improvements to make it simpler to use. Over recent months we’ve:

  • given you the option to sign in to myGov with your email address
  • reduced the amount of time you are locked out of your account if you get your sign in details wrong, and
  • made our security and confirmation codes easier to use.

If you’ve got a myGov account, there’ll be more improvements for you this year. Check myGov to see what else we’ve improved for you.

If you don’t have a myGov account, and want to join the millions of people accessing Medicare, Centrelink and Child Support services quickly and easily—creating an account is simple! All you need to do is go to myGov and select Create an account, then follow the prompts.
