Your student payment may change from June

Payment rates and eligibility are changing for dependent Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, Assistance for Isolated Children and Austudy.

From June, your payment rate may change.

We’re changing how we assess eligible students and calculate payment rates. This may affect you if:

  • you have siblings in your family pool
  • you get regular gift payments from a close family member
  • you have interests in a trust or private company, or
  • your parents or partner get payments from us, or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

You don’t need to contact us. We’ll work out any changes to your payment using the information you’ve given us.

Just make sure your details are up to date in your myGov account.

You can check your eligibility and payment rate using Payment Finder.
