Status Resolution Support Services Payment
Support for people who are living in Australia while they seek to resolve their immigration status.
The Department of Immigration and Border Protection will decide if you can get the Status Resolution Support Services (SRSS) payment. We will pay you on their behalf. Your Service Provider will provide you with additional support.
Under the SRSS payment, you will get a Living Allowance to help you with basic living expenses. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to get Rental Assistance Allowance, Dependent Child Allowance, or both. You may also have access to Medicare.
You will not have access to other Centrelink payments or services.
To claim the SRSS payment speak to a Department of Immigration and Border Protection, contracted SRSS Service Provider in your state or territory. The Service Provider will help you complete an application. They will use this to assess your eligibility for the SRSS payment. Once the Department of Immigration and Border Protection has assessed your eligibility for the SRSS payment, you will need to complete the Claim for Status Resolution Support Services form. You can also use this form to complete your Medicare enrolment.
You will need to provide one of the following documents from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for identity purposes:
- a Visa Evidence card (PL056), or
- an ImmiCard Report
If you do not have any of these, please speak with your Service Provider.
Return the completed form and all supporting documents to one of our service centres to make sure you are paid from the earliest possible date.

Authorising someone to enquire on your behalf
Complete the Status Resolution Support Services Payment Authorising a person or organisation to enquire on your behalf form to arrange for another person or organisation to enquire with us on your behalf about your SRSS payment.
Help in your language
If you speak a language other than English we have information in your language you can read, listen to or watch.
You can also call our Multicultural Service Officers to speak with a skilled bilingual service officer about Centrelink payments and services.
When you are asked to nominate a language, say SRSS twice instead of naming your language. This will help us direct your call to the right person. We will then ask what language you speak.
