Keeping up to date with Medicare

It's important to have your details with us up to date and that you have a current Medicare card.

Update your address and other details

The simplest way to update your address, personal and bank account details, submit a Medicare claim, request a Medicare card, and so much more is by using your Medicare online account.

If you already have a myGov account - go straight to your Medicare online account through myGov.

If you don't have a myGov account - register for an online account through myGov.

If you want to use the Express Plus Medicare mobile app, download the Express Plus Medicare mobile app using your mobile device. You need to create a myGov account and then link it to your Medicare online account to use the app.

Update your personal details with Medicare

For changes such as name, gender or date of birth, you will need to bring supporting documentation to your local service centre.

Replacing your Medicare card

If your card has been lost or stolen, let us know as soon as possible so we can replace it.

If your Medicare card has recently expired, you’ll automatically receive a new card in the mail.

You can request a new Medicare Card by accessing your Medicare online account.

Claim your benefit at your doctor’s practice or online

We have a range of options available to make claiming your Medicare benefit easier. To take advantage of these claiming options you’ll need to register your bank account details with us.

If you claim at your doctor’s or online, your Medicare benefit will be paid directly into your nominated bank account.
