PNIP – updated guidelines are now available

The Practice Nurse Incentive Program (PNIP) guidelines have been updated.

On 1 May 2017, the updated Practice Nurse Incentive Program (PNIP) guidelines come into effect. The guidelines tell you how the program works and what you need to do to apply or continue to be eligible.

Important changes include:

  • PNIP payments aren’t available for after hours services that give care outside normal hours of general practice
  • PNIP payments aren’t payable to Medical deputising services
  • supervising arrangements must be documented if the employer of an enrolled nurse and a registered nurse are different.

Read the guidelines to check you meet the PNIP eligibility requirements. If you don’t, you must withdraw online through Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) by 30 April 2017.

If you can’t withdraw online you need to complete and fax a form to us by 24 April 2017.
