Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement

The Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement includes a number of initiatives to improve the use of and access to medicines in the community.

The Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement between the Australian Government and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia started on 1 July 2015 and is in place for 5 years.

It forms part of the government’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) Access and Sustainability Package (the Package). The Package aims to keep the PBS cost effective and sustainable by:

  • providing new and innovative PBS medicines at affordable prices
  • promoting improvements in the use of medicines

As part of the Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement we will administer the following initiatives:
