Pension Supplement is a combined payment of Pharmaceutical Allowance, Utilities Allowance, GST Supplement and Telephone Allowance equal to the higher rate for internet subscribers.
Who can get it
There are 3 ways to get the supplement.
You can get the supplement if you get:
- Age Pension
- Bereavement Allowance
- Carer Payment
- Disability Support Pension - except if you are 20 years old or younger and have no children
- Widow B Pension, or
- Wife Pension
You can get the supplement if you are over age pension age and get:
You can get the basic amount of supplement if you’re under age pension age and get Parenting Payment as a single parent.
How you get it
You don’t need to do anything. We’ll pay you each fortnight with your support payment.
If you can’t get it
If you can’t get Pension Supplement, you could get:
Transitional rate pensioners
If you get a transitional rate of pension you will not get the Pension Supplement. You will get an equivalent amount.
