Before you start

Check if you're eligible before you start your claim.

Information you need for your claim

You’ll need:

  • proof of identity
  • proof of enrolment if you’re studying, and
  • any other documents we ask for

Start your claim

Download a Request for Jobs, Education and Training Child Care Fee Assistance form.

Use your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app or Centrelink online account to submit your claim and supporting documents.

Submit your claim

You need to give us:

  • your claim form
  • proof of identity
  • proof of enrolment if you’re studying, and
  • any other documents we ask for

You can do this online, by post or in person at a service centre.

If you can’t submit your claim online, call us or go to a service centre.

Submit other documents

We may ask you for documents to help us assess your claim.

You can submit some of these through your online account when you claim.

If we ask you to confirm your identity, you’ll need to do this at a service centre within 14 days. We may reject your claim if you don’t.

Update your job plan

You need to update your Job Plan to include your JET Child Care Fee Assistance activity.

Wait for the results

We'll tell you:

  • the outcome of your claim
  • when we’ll start paying you, and
  • how many hours we’ve approved you for

If you disagree with a decision, contact us as soon as possible. It's important to ask for a review or appeal within 28 days of us notifying you about the decision.

If your request for a review is more than 28 days after we notified you and we change our decision, you may only receive your entitlement from the date you requested the review.
