1 January 2018 changes to Pension Supplement for people overseas

The Pension Supplement is stopping for people who live overseas or travel outside Australia for more than 6 weeks.

Subject to the passage of legislation.

You will still get the Pension Supplement if you travel overseas for less than 6 weeks.  

From 1 January 2018, this payment:

  • will stop once you have been outside of Australia for more than 6 weeks
  • will stop on departure, if you leave Australia to live in another country

If you live overseas and get Pension Supplement, you will get a letter explaining how the change will affect you.
