Assistance for Isolated Children annual reviews are coming up

20 August 2018

We’ll send you a review form in October. We may also send a letter asking for a 2019 income estimate in September.

If you get Additional Boarding Allowance

This year, we’ll send you a letter in September to ask for your income details.

When you get the letter, you need to call our Assistance for Isolated Children line to provide your income details. You need to do this by the due date in your letter. If you don’t, your payment will stop from 1 January 2019.

You need to tell us your income every year so we can check:

  • you’re still eligible for Additional Boarding Allowance, and
  • we’re paying you the right amount

If you get a letter in September, you’ll still get a review of circumstances form in October.

If you get other Assistance for Isolated Children payments

This includes Basic Boarding Allowance, Distance Education Allowance and Second Home Allowance.

We’ll send you a form in October asking you to confirm your details for our end of year review. You need to complete the form to tell us about changes, like:

  • what year your child will be in at school in 2019
  • if your child will change schools in 2019
  • if you’ve changed your address, or
  • if you’ve changed your bank details

We confirm this information every year to check:

  • you’re still eligible for a payment under the scheme, and
  • we’re paying you the right amount

You need to complete the form and return it to us. You need to do this by the due date in the form. If you don't, your payment will stop from 1 January 2019.

Next steps

Call our Assistance for Isolated Children line to provide your income details, if we’ve sent you a letter.

Complete and return the form we send you to confirm your information is still correct.
