Celebrate International Day of People with Disability

1 November 2017

On 3 December, we celebrate the 25th International Day for People with Disability.

This day is all about improving public awareness and acceptance of people with disability and celebrating their achievements and contributions.

This year’s theme is transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all. It aims to break down barriers for 4.3 million Australians living with disability.

Individuals and organisations take part in the day and empower people with disability as active contributors of society.

In our department, we’re proud to help break down barriers by supporting people with illness, injury or disability through the payments and services we deliver. We help them find or prepare for a job through Disability Employment Services.

We also support people on the autism spectrum to use their IT skills and gain employment through the Dandelion Program. See how the program is helping people like Connor use his natural talent for IT.

You can also view the inspiring stories of our 9 Disability Champions and how they have achieved their goals.
