Changes to family payments

28 June 2017

Don’t forget, there are changes to some family payments from 1 July 2017.

Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A supplement change

Your family’s income must be $80,000 or less for us to pay you the FTB Part A supplement.

This applies to everyone, including families who:

  • receive an income support payment
  • have more than one child

We’ll pay the FTB Part A supplement to eligible families after we balance your payments for 2016-17. This will happen after July 2017. If your income was too high, you won't receive the supplement.

There are no changes to Immunisation and any Healthy Start for School requirements. Where required, you must meet these conditions so we can pay you the FTB Part A supplement.

Single Income Family Supplement (SIFS) change

We won't pay SIFS to families who claim for the first time in 2017-18 and later years.

If you’re eligible for SIFS on 30 June 2017 and stay eligible, you’ll keep getting it.

If there is a break in your eligibility, or you weren’t eligible on 30 June 2017, you won’t receive SIFS in the future.

You’ll notice this change after July 2018 when we balance your payments.
