20 March 2019

Time is running out to submit a lump sum claim for Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.

Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate stopped on 1 July 2018. You have until 30 June 2019 to submit a claim for a lump sum payment. You can only claim for any child care you used in the 2017-18 financial year. You can only claim if you haven’t already claimed or received your entitlements.

Approved care in 2017-18 financial year

If you used approved care in this time, you need to claim by 30 June 2019. When you claim Child Care Benefit, we’ll check if you’re also eligible for any Child Care Rebate. We’ll pay your entitlements if your provider has submitted your child’s attendance data to us.

The easiest way to claim is online. You can use your Centrelink online account through myGov. You don’t need to finish your online claim all at once. You can save your answers and finish the claim later, as long you submit it before 30 June 2019.
