Update your family income estimate online now

The new financial year is fast approaching.

If you receive family assistance payments, that means it’s time to give us your family income estimate for the 2018-19 financial year.

We’ll use it to work out how much Family Tax Benefit (FTB) and Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you can receive.

It’s important to make sure your income estimate is as accurate as possible. You should also update it during the year if your circumstances change.

You’ll need to report your income separately if you or your partner receive an income support payment.

If you receive Family Tax Benefit

Tell us your family income estimate for 2018-19 with your:

Once you’ve signed in, select Update family income estimate.

If you don’t give us your estimate by 14 June, we’ll use the income estimate we have calculated for you to work out your payments from 1 July 2018.

You can also review your payment choice for FTB when you provide your family income estimate. We’ll recommend a choice based on your circumstances. The right payment choice will help ensure you don’t get overpaid.

If you receive child care fee assistance

The new Child Care Subsidy will start on 2 July 2018. This will replace the current child care payments, including Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.

You can give us your family income estimate for 2018-19 by completing your Child Care Subsidy assessment. If you’ve completed your Child Care Subsidy assessment, you don’t need to give us a separate estimate for FTB.

Complete the assessment with your Centrelink online account through myGov.

Once you’ve signed in, select Complete your Child Care Subsidy assessment.

You should complete this as soon as possible. If you don’t, you’ll have to pay your child care fees in full from 2 July.
