Has your 4 year old had their healthy start for school health check?

14 January 2019

If they don’t have one before they turn 5, your Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A rate may reduce.

If your child turns 4 in the 2018-19 financial year, they must get a health check. This applies if your family gets FTB Part A and an income support payment like Newstart Allowance.

If your child still hasn’t had their health check, we’ll be writing to you soon.

Your child needs to have the check by their 5th birthday. If they don’t, we’ll reduce your FTB Part A payment each fortnight.

If your child has already had their health check, you need to let us know. The easiest way to tell us is online using your Centrelink online account through myGov.
