If you get Child Care Subsidy (CCS) it’s time to take action
22 July 2019
You need to confirm your income details for 2018-19 so we can start balancing your CCS from 29 July 2019.
If you get CCS, you and your partner must confirm your income. You need to do it for CCS even if you didn’t for Family Tax Benefit (FTB).
If you’ve already confirmed your income for FTB, you don’t need to do it again. You only need to confirm your income once to balance both CCS and FTB.
You can confirm your income by either:
- lodging a tax return with the ATO
- telling us you don’t need to lodge a tax return.
The best way to tell us you don’t need to lodge a tax return is online or with our app. Read our online guides to see how:
- Centrelink online account help - Advise non-lodgement of tax return
- Express Plus Centrelink mobile app help - Advise non-lodgement of tax return.
At the end of each financial year we balance CCS. This is a similar process as FTB and the previous Child Care Benefit.
Balancing is about making sure you got the right amount of subsidy for the financial year. When we balance CCS there are 3 possible results:
- A top-up payment.
- No impact.
- An overpayment.
Watch our CCS balancing video to see how we do it.
