Immunisation requirements changed on 1 July 2018

8 August 2018

If you get Family Tax Benefit Part A, this change may affect you.

We‘ll check if your child meets the immunisation requirements. If they don’t, we may reduce your FTB Part A payment.

We’ll send you 2 letters before we reduce your payment. We’ll let you know what to do. You’ll have 63 days to take action to meet these requirements. The letters will tell you when the 63 day period ends.

After the 63 days, if your child still doesn’t meet the requirements, we’ll reduce your FTB Part A payment. We’ll send you another letter when changes to your payments occur. We can reduce your payment by up to $28.28 per fortnight, per child.

Your child must also meet these immunisation requirements if you claim Child Care Subsidy.

Next steps

If you’re not sure whether your child’s immunisations are up to date, check their Immunisation History Statement.

You can also speak with your vaccination provider about a catch up schedule or an approved medical exemption.
