If your child finishes year 12 or stops studying this year, your Family Tax Benefit (FTB) for them may stop.
If you have a child finishing year 12 in November or December, we’ll stop paying FTB for them on 31 December. If they finish year 12 before then, your FTB will continue for 28 days after they complete their studies.
If your child stops studying before they complete year 12 or an equivalent qualification, your FTB will stop. This will happen from the date they stop studying.
Your child’s school sets the study end date. It’s usually the last day of class or last day of exams - whichever is later.
