It only takes a minute to donate life
31 July 2019
DonateLife Week: we’re calling on all Australians to register online to be an organ and tissue donor.
Since 2009, organ transplants have saved 11,000 lives..
But there’s more work to do. There are currently 1,400 Australians on a waitlist for a life-saving transplant. A further 11,000 people are on dialysis.
If you’re not registered to be an organ and tissue donor, DonateLife Week is the perfect time to do it. It’s easy and quick to register.
Only 8.1% of 16-25 year old Australians have registered to be a donor. Follow the steps below to help change this.
How to register
Register online using one of the following:
- your Medicare online account through myGov
- the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
- the online form on the DonateLife website.
Once you’ve registered, have a chat with your family and friends so they know you want to donate.
